About

I started writing code as a hobby,
today it is a job where I build products.

Below you will find who I am, how I work and the path I have taken from 2018 to today.

I am a student in the Web Design and Coding program at Istanbul University. Software found me in 2018 through Python, and I have not stopped learning and building since.

My first real project started off-screen. In 2019 I built an earthquake early warning system running on sensor circuits with Raspberry Pi, Arduino and Python, and entered it into the TÜBİTAK competition. I left the project unfinished — but that is where I learned that making an idea actually work takes far longer than having the idea. It is still the reason I argue for keeping scope small.

In 2020 I started building mobile apps with Java, and I have been writing mobile ever since. In 2021 I learned Swift and moved into iOS and iPadOS, building games alongside apps. I shipped my first apps to the stores in 2022 and started doing this professionally that same year; to date I have released 11 apps on the App Store and Google Play.

I do not see apps as just an interface. I use Firebase and Supabase for authentication, database design, real-time sync, notifications and crash reporting; which one is the right call for a given project is a decision I make by looking at the shape of the data.

Since 2024 I have been working freelance for companies and individual clients. Most of that work has been on the mobile side: adding features to existing apps, fixing bugs, handling app store release processes and post-release maintenance. In 2025 I did not want to stay purely on the code side, so I built up my skills in SEO, digital marketing, social media management and web development. To date I have delivered website work to more than 5 companies and I actively run the SEO for 2 brands.

Some of the sites I delivered are no longer live — the businesses closed, so we took the sites down too. On the Websites page I only list the ones that are still up; I did not want to link to a dead address.

Right now I am actively working on 8 projects: 6 mobile apps, 1 e-commerce platform and 1 desktop game. My own products Vakti Geçmeden, Hadi Yapalım and Sinepia are in review on the app stores. In 2026 I started learning Flutter and I am trying to ship to both platforms from a single codebase. Alongside these I have a few R&D efforts at the idea stage.

Beyond development, I also handle the design and content side myself. I prepare app store visuals and social media content with Canva and Photoshop, and promo videos with CapCut. Depending on what the client needs, I can also deliver with WordPress instead of a hand-coded site — I decide which route is right by looking at how much maintenance the project will need.

I do not consider my learning finished. Right now I want to take Flutter to an advanced level and reach the same depth in Python, Kotlin and JavaScript that I have in Swift and Java. On the language side my goal is to get to C1 in English and B1 in German — so I can work comfortably in an international team.

For me a project does not end the moment it is uploaded to the App Store; it ends when it reaches users, gets measured and grows. That is why I chose to stand on both the building and the marketing side. For eight years I have done most of the work on my own; that taught me to see the whole picture, but now I want to do it together with a team.

Timeline

From 2018 to today

Every year added something to the one before it. Here is that story, in short.

  1. 2018

    First line: Python

I entered the world of software through Python. This is where I picked up the fundamentals of programming, algorithms and problem-solving habits.

TÜBİTAK — Earthquake early warning project

I built an earthquake project running on sensor circuits with Raspberry Pi, Arduino and Python, and entered the TÜBİTAK competition. I left it unfinished because I could not give it enough time — but it taught me a great deal about hardware–software integration and designing an idea end to end.

    Into mobile with Java

I learned Java and started building Android apps, and I have been writing mobile non-stop ever since. I wrote my first apps in this period; the store releases came in 2022.

    Swift and the Apple ecosystem

I learned Swift and started building apps and games for iOS and iPadOS. App Store release processes, review guidelines and App Store Connect management all clicked into place in this period.

    App development as a profession

No longer a hobby — a job. This is the year I released my first app, SineKazan, on the App Store and Play Store. From here on I gained hands-on experience with the post-release process, user feedback, the update cycle and revenue models; to date I have released 11 apps in total.

Many systems in one app: Social Connect

I built Social Connect, the most comprehensive project I had taken on up to that point: eight separate dating platforms, live streaming, voice and video calls, a gift economy and games, all in one app. For video calls I self-hosted JitsiMeet on my own server; that is where I learned server setup, media streaming and scaling.

TakeawayLearned how to keep very different subsystems alive in a single codebase.

    Freelance & corporate collaborations

I started providing freelance software support to a number of companies and individual clients. This is where I developed the discipline of client communication, taking briefs, preparing quotes and delivering on time.
